Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Should Keep an Eye on September 17

Blizzard has confirmed that hero shooter Overwatch 2 is bringing content to Xbox Game Pass on September 17. Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard has given the company full control over the company's franchises. In turn, this means that fans can count on Activision Blizzard bringing its biggest games to Xbox Game Pass.

Some Activision Blizzard games have already made their way to Xbox Game Pass. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was added to Xbox Game Pass just recently, preceded by Diablo 4. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was added to Xbox Game Pass not too long ago, and it's well-known that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming to Game Pass Ultimate on October 25. Now Xbox Game Pass subscribers have even more Activision Blizzard content to look forward to, this time in the form of free content for hero shooter Overwatch 2.

As confirmed by Blizzard, Overwatch 2 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on September 17. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will need to link their Battle.net account to their Xbox account, and once that's done, they will get 30 Mythic Prisms as well as the Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver skips. Overwatch 2 players will have to log in by October 21 to claim these freebies. Blizzard has teased that even more benefits will be coming to Overwatch 2 players with Xbox Game Pass in future, including cosmetics and XP boosts.

Overwatch 2 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass about a month after the start of Season 12, which is shaping up to be a particularly exciting season for fans of the hero-shooter. Overwatch 2 Season 12 will see the debut of new Support hero Juno, not to mention the brand-new Clash game mode. Combined with the game's new Xbox Game Pass benefits, it seems like Season 12 will be a great time for Xbox fans to check out OW2 if they haven't already and for lapsed players to give it another go.

With Overwatch 2 content confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in September 2024, next month is looking particularly stacked for the service. STALKER 2's delay hurts the Xbox Game Pass September 2024 lineup for sure, but subscribers still have some other heavy hitters to look forward to, including Star Trucker, Age of Mythology: Retold, Ara: History Untold, and the highly-anticipated Frostpunk 2.
