Russian targets identified for US missile strikes

Kiev had already provided Washington with a list of targets inside Russia, urging the United States to lift its ban on hitting Russia with its long-range missiles.

However, according to the New York Times, American officials said the list far exceeded the number of missiles available without jeopardizing stockpiles needed for potential conflicts in the Middle East and Asia.

American officials told the New York Times that Mr. Zelensky was shocked by Mr. Biden’s refusal to authorize the use of American long-range missiles at their September meeting, after Mr. Biden had already given in on weapons such as Abrams tanks, F-16s and ATACMS missiles.

Despite detailed explanations and lists of targets, no policy decisions were made.

No country has authorized the use of its missiles inside Russia, and an invitation to NATO remains out of the question until the end of the war.

It seems that Biden and his administration are playing the moderation card, and it seems unlikely that a decision will be made before the nomination of the new American president. The Ukrainian president knows this and must therefore adapt to survive the winter.
