No confidentiality: Zelenskyy slams US attitude

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed frustration over a leak in U.S. media revealing Kyiv’s request for Tomahawk missiles.

Earlier this week, The New York Times, citing anonymous sources, reported that Kyiv had requested Tomahawk missiles, which have a range of up to 2,400 kilometers.

Sources told the U.S. outlet that Washington is unlikely to approve Kyiv's request, as the White House considers the missiles unnecessary and their supply limited.

"It was confidential information between Ukraine and the White House. How to understand these messages?,"Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press briefing. "So this means (that) between partners, there is no (confidentiality)," he lamented.

The Ukrainian leader had requested these missiles to use only if Russia refused to end the war or at least reduce tensions between the two countries.

"I said that this is a preventive method. I was told that it is an escalation," the Ukrainian leader said.
