4 Natural Allergy Remedies That Really Work
Early summer is usually the worst time for those of us with allergies. Here are four natural remedies that work. Drink Water It sounds obvious but drinking enough water can make a big difference. It can help drain sinuses and prevent congestion. Water also thins out the mucus in your nose, making it easier to breathe. Steam Yourself Inhaling steam helps open the airways and clear out congestion. It also softens and moistens mucus in your nasal passages. You can do this by taking a shower or investing in a facial steamer. Alternatively, you could fill a bowl with hot water and drape a towel over your head while inhaling the steam. Drink Less Alcohol A study found that women who have over 14 alcoholic drinks a week are 78% more likely to develop a stuffy nose than those who drink less. So be mindful of how much alcohol you drink, or try cutting it out altogether. Green Tea A compound found in green tea blocks a key cell receptor involved in producing allergic responses. Scientists recommend that people who suffer from allergies should try drinking green tea regularly.
