NewsRussia shows off nuclear-capable Yars mobile missile launchers
Russia has released sabre-rattling footage that shows its forces practising manoeuvres with nuclear-capable Yars missile launch vehicles. The video shows Russian soldiers removing the camo netting from one of the Yars mobile missile launchers. It is then seen driving along a road along with other launchers and their escorts, with the vehicle so large that they take up both lanes. The images were obtained from the Russian ministry of Defence (MoD) on Friday, May 17, along with a statement claiming: 'Crews of the Yars PGRK of the Yoshkar-Ola missile formation practice manoeuvring actions on combat patrol routes.' The Russian MoD added: 'Units equipped with Yars mobile ground-based missile systems (PGRK) changed field positions in the Yoshkar-Ola missile formation. 'The positions of autonomous launchers are changed both during the day and at night. 'The crews of the Yars PGRK completed the tasks of dispersing units and changing field positions, equipping their engineering equipment, organising camouflage and combat security. In total, the units of the missile formation will work out several dozen introductory exercises. 'In addition, on combat patrol routes during planned combat training activities, a wide range of tasks are solved to counter sabotage and reconnaissance groups.' Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'. The conflict is still ongoing with public support from Europe and the United States fading and businesses reopening their ties with Russia. Deserters have fled both countries for safer climbs in Europe and Asia.
NewsThai villagers fire huge homemade rocket into sky to pray for rain
This is the spectacular moment locals fired a homemade rocket at an annual rainmaking festival in Thailand. The impressive device stuffed with 200kg of explosives was launched into the heavens to mark the start of the festivities at the Sam More Non Tun School in northeastern Khon Kaen province, Thailand, on May 12. Meesawat Chomchaiphum, a member of the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organisation, said locals and residents from neighbouring Chaiyaphum province have been holding the annual rainmaking ritual for several years at the start of the country's monsoon season. He said: 'This year, the festival will be grand, involving a large parade, three days of rocket launching, performances by famous Mor Lam bands, and booths selling local products.' He added that the provincial administrative organisation spent 500,000 THB (11,000 GBP) for the event, including importing the rocket from Yasothon province which is famous for its spectacular rockets. Thailand's Rocket Festival is held annually to honour Phaya Thaen, the Buddhist deity of rainmaking, as farmers and villagers pray for rain for a bountiful harvest. They believe the rockets will reach the clouds and help to stimulate impending monsoon downpours, which last until October or November. Authorities also hope to pass down the decades-long tradition by organising spectacular shows that will fire the imaginations of younger residents.

NewsHow To Safely Treat Sunburn Peeling
Sunburn peeling can’t be stopped, but you can relieve the pain and help your skin recover. Here are some ways you can safely treat sunburn peeling. Take An Anti-Inflammatory Medication Take a pain reliever like ibuprofen or aspirin, as they reduce inflammation, pain, and the redness surrounding sunburn. Apply Aloe Vera Or A Soy-Based Moisturizer Use an anti-inflammatory cream such as aloe vera or a soy-based moisturizer to help speed up the healing process. Oil-based moisturizers can trap heat and make your burn and peeling skin worse. Take A Cool Shower Taking a cool shower won’t necessarily stop the peeling, but it will provide temporary relief from your burn. But it's important not to exfoliate, so avoid using loofahs and scrub brushes when showering as they can irritate your skin. Use A Cold Compress Place a cool compress on the skin for 20-30 minutes to soothe irritation and reduce peeling. Never apply ice directly to the skin, as it can cause further peeling. Wrap the compress in a soft fabric first.
NewsWhy Sleeping Naked During A Heatwave Is A Bad Idea
Believe it or not, the worst thing you could do during a heatwave is to sleep naked, it actually makes sleeping more difficult. We wear pajamas to bed as the fabric helps to draw sweat away from the body and keep us cool while we’re sleeping. When you sleep naked your body just collects sweat that stays there, making you hotter as there’s no fabric to absorb it. So opt for light, breathable pajamas for sleeping during a heatwave to stay cool. This, however, doesn’t apply to babies, who can sleep comfortably in just a diaper. Sleep experts also say that you shouldn’t sleep with a fan on during the night. Fans can spread allergies, cause dry skin, and muscle soreness. To keep cool at night, open your bedroom window a few hours before you go to bed to let the room cool down. You can also keep the blinds or curtains closed during the day to prevent light from getting in which will heat it up. Switching to light, cotton fabric for your bedding will also help to keep you cool at night.
NewsOver 14% Of The World Has Had Lyme Disease
Over 14% of people around the world have had Lyme disease, according to a recent review of 89 studies. The bacteria that causes the disease was found in 14.5% of the almost 160,000 total study participants. The highest rate of infection was found in Central Europe at 20%, followed by Eastern Asia at 15.9% and Western Europe at 13.5%. The Caribbean has the lowest rate of infection at just 2%. Experts say that men over the age of 50 living in rural areas are the most at risk of getting Lyme disease. Tick-born diseases have become very common in the last 12 years. This is due to animal migration, increasingly frequent contact with pets and drier summers caused by global warming. Farmers and those who work with host animals such as dogs and sheep are the most at risk of getting bitten by an infected tick.
