Beatles legend looks ageless celebrating 84th birthday with unique tradition

The Beatles drummer Sir Ringo Starr looked as youthful as ever as he rang in his 84th birthday.

The world-famous musician, real name Sir Richard Starkey MBE, recently completed a solo spring tour ahead of the big celebrations.

To mark the occasion, he once more asked people to take part in his global Peace and Love event, where he invited fans to say or post the words ‘peace and love.’

In a video posted to his Instagram Page, Sir Ringo looked ageless in crisp white trousers with a contrasting black graphic tee and denim jacket to explain the event.

‘OK, Peace and Love, here we go again!’ he said in the clip.

‘Thanks for joining me on my birthday. I am so grateful to you all for helping me promote Peace and Love.

‘I want to give special thanks to all the peace and love ambassadors – we are in 34 countries! Thanks for doing it – and I gotta thank all the fans, peace and love – just join me in your mind, or on the bus or wherever you are on the 7th of the 7th just go “peace and love” at noon your local time.’

Many took to the comments to wish Sir Ringo a happy birthday as well as praise him for his work in spreading the positive message.

‘Happy Birthday Ringo! Peace ✌ and love ♥️ to you! Always proud to say I share a birthday with this incredibly talented man!,’ Flakrom wrote.

Loon.leni wrote: ‘Happy Birthday you beautiful human. All the peace and love on this world to you, we love and your music, enjoy your day.’

Pixiedustedpriness added: ‘So happy I finally got to celebrate “with you” at your annual event in LA. Peace and love and many more years to you, Ringo!’

Sir Ringo took to the stage in Los Angeles to promote the phenomenon alongside Diana Warren, Asa and Roy Orbison, Ben Harper, Ben Dickey, and Steve Dudas among others.

He also collaborated with Nasa who will post a message on their social media to help promote the cause.

Former bandmate Sir Paul McCartney wished Sir Ringo a ‘fabulous’ birthday as he posted a tribute to the musician.

Sharing a photo of them laughing, Sir Paul wrote: ‘Happy birthday to Ringo and to my Dad! Hope Sir Richard Starkey has a fabulous day.’

Rita Wilson, the wife of Tom Hanks, also sent a birthday message to Ringo, penning: ‘Happy birthday, Ringo.’
