Liberals split on Peter Dutton’s new plan
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s plan to break up major retailers with new divestiture powers has split the Coalition.
The policy would attempt to stop price gouging, land banking, mistreatment of farmers and deter anti-competitive behaviour.
Several Liberal MPs believe the plan would discredit employers and increase supermarket prices.
