Americans strike Putin's allies directly
Washington has unveiled a new round of sanctions against nearly 400 individuals and companies accused of supplying Russia with cutting-edge technology to support its “war machine.”
The U.S. Treasury Department announced sweeping sanctions that will hit 275 individuals and entities in countries including India, China, Switzerland and Turkey, with the restrictions aimed at “disrupting global evasion networks.”
“The United States and our allies will continue to take decisive action around the world to stop the flow of critical tools and technologies that Russia needs to wage its illegal and immoral war against Ukraine,”Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said in a statement.
“As today’s action demonstrates, we are committed to reducing and degrading Russia’s ability to equip its war machine and stopping those who seek to support its efforts by circumventing or evading our sanctions and export controls,” he added.
