The 2024 Emmys' Best Dressed Stars: Ayo Edebiri, Brie Larson, Andrew Scott and More
Style at the 2024 Emmys ran the gamut this year, from vivid hues to the deepest jewel tones and a substantial commitment to classic black and shimmering metallics. The sheer variety of looks made the task of narrowing the list of best-dressed stars among this year's winners and nominees all the more daunting.
In the end, selecting the most outstanding looks from Sunday ceremony at the Peacock Theater boiled down to a mix of factors: a silhouette and design that felt both current and beyond basic, an attention to beautiful fit, thoughtful accessorizing and the poise to pull off all of the above.
Here's a look at a dozen stars who simply dazzled at the 2024 Emmys.
Brie Larson in Chanel
A best actress nominee for Lessons in Chemistry, Brie Larson was stunning in head-to-toe Chanel, including a custom peplum midi dress in a mix of navy organza and black satin, tulle and taffeta, all of which required about 500 hours and 10,000 beaded elements to craft. Larson paired the look with white-gold and diamond jewels, also by Chanel.
Ayo Edebiri in Bottega Veneta
The co-star (and previous Emmy winner) of The Bear wore a custom Bottega Veneta gown based on a look from creative director Matthieu Blazy's Pre-Spring 2025 collection for the brand: a strapless design embellished with a custom print meant to evoke thoughts of starfish rendered in sequins.
Anna Sawai in Vera Wang
Nominated as best actress in a drama series for Shogun, Sawai said she was asked by her stylist who she would like to wear to the Emmy awards. "The first name I thought of was Vera Wang, and I'm so happy she said yes," the actress said of the custom look the designer created for her, a silk-faille mermaid gown with an architectural neckline and a hand-draped flounce above the skirt. Sawai paired the look with Cartier jewels and Jimmy Choo shoes.
Andrew Scott in Vivienne Westwood
Several actors eschewed a tie for their Emmy-Night looks, choosing the more scintillating option of an open shirt with a more laid-back vibe. Perhaps no one did it better than Ripley best actor nominee Andrew Scott, whose custom look by Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood included a frilled shirt that added a beautiful texture to the overall look.
Kristen Wiig in Oscar de la Renta
Vibrant metallics were a notable trend on the Emmys red carpet, including Bridgerton‘s Nicola Coughlan in Atelier Prabal Gurung and Fallout‘s Ella Purnell in Rabanne, but Palm Royalestar Kristen Wiig opted for the artful, shaped perfection of this strapless gown by Oscar de la Renta, defined by a zigzag neckline and hem. The actress paired the look with diamond jewels by Chopard.
Taylor Zakhar Perez in Gucci
He blew up on social media thanks to his role in Amazon's Red, White & Royal Blue, and with the sequel currently in development, Taylor Zakhar Perez was sure to be a hot commodity on the Emmys red carpet. The actor looked terrific in head-to-toe Gucci, flaunting the label's GG monogram peak-lapel suit in chocolate brown and pairing it with a matching shirt and tie and black leather loafers.
Sarah Paulson in Prada
Always a style star on red carpets, the outstanding guest actress nominee for Mr. & Mrs. Smith didn't disappoint at the 2024 Emmys, wearing a custom Prada gown in Yves Klein blue with a black underskirt and white bow detail, paired with jewels by Marco Bicego.
Eiza Gonzalez in Tamara Ralph
For her first time at the Emmys, 3 Body Problem‘s Eiza Gonzalez said she wanted to wear a look that felt "very upbeat and happy [to] represent the moment." Her choice: a light pink strapless gown and matching feather coat by Tamara Ralph, paired with jewels by David Yurman and Jimmy Choo shoes.
Da'Vine Joy Randolph in Sophie Couture
All the details combined beautifully for Da'Vine Joy Randolph, nominated for outstanding guest actress for Only Murders in the Building. Her custom gown by Sophie Couture was crafted in a hue called "sunshine yellow," while the artful ruching embraced her curves perfectly, and the hooded detail added the right touch of drama. The actress paired the look with diamond Serpenti jewels by Bulgari.
Jennifer Aniston in Oscar de la Renta
The best actress nominee for The Morning Show always opts for a look that's streamlined and chic, and at the 2024 Emmys, that aesthetic extended to a luxe texture on her Oscar de la Renta gown, resulting from the pearl and crystal embroidery that required roughly 800 hours to complete. Aniston's vintage platinum and diamond jewels by Tiffany & Co., meanwhile, included a bracelet dated between 1920 and 1935. She finished the look with Jimmy Choo shoes.
Robert Downey Jr. in Louis Vuitton
Double-breasted suits were a trend on the 2024 Emmys red carpet, and the outstanding supporting actor nominee for The Sympathizer elevated that idea with this custom Louis Vuitton suit and silk shirt by Louis Vuitton. The actor accessorized his look with Tiffany & Co.'s iconic Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock brooch, which highlighted a pink tourmaline of more than 33 carats. That stone's hue may have been chosen to match the magenta gown worn by his wife, Susan Downey.
Kristin Scott Thomas in Miu Miu
"Silver chic" also was a trend on the Emmys red carpet, as in the silver tresses of several legendary actresses in attendance. Kristin Scott Thomas was lovely in a lavender dress by Miu Miu, which featured a gathered neckline and cape effect, paired with matching opera-length gloves and shoes by Sauvereign, which were embellished with 24-karat gold.
