For the longest time, this was the only peek that gamers had into the Red Dead series until Rockstar Games decided to up the ante and release a sequel that most people consider to be one of the greatest open-world games of the modern generation.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a marvel in every aspect, with the story, in particular, being a well-thought-out and emotional ride that most people would remember long after finishing this masterpiece. Arthur Morgan is one of the most well-written characters in the history of video games, and players get so close to him throughout the game's events that it is hard to believe the ending.

That being said, players will have to move on from Red Dead Redemption 2 one way or another after completing the campaign. Hopefully, there are other games that could deliver the same fluctuation of feelings to the player, though they might not be almost perfect at everything like Red Dead Redemption 2 is.

It's an amazing game that players still can't get enough of to this day, and fans of Rockstar Games who loved Red Dead Redemption 2will obviously have a great time playing through the lengthy and engaging story of San Andreas.

Tommy Angelo is a likable protagonist, and fans are bound to get attached to this character, which makes the ending that much harder to digest.

Aiden Pearce is quite believable as a hacker because he has an isolated life with a very limited number of friends to hang out with. Once the player feels the loneliness of Aiden, the story introduces Claire, a character that seems to be the person Aiden can finally rely on and exit his isolated life, but fate has something else planned for Aiden.

The ending of Watch Dogs and its well-written protagonist comes close to that of Red Dead Redemption 2, though it doesn't hit the same level of detail.

The Max Payneseries took a different direction with the third entry by Rockstar Games, but the first two iterations of the game delivered magnificent narratives that fit well into the main protagonist, who has been dealing with psychological disorders after what happened to his family.

The story in Max Payne 2 still goes back and forth in time, but it is more crime-oriented than the first entry, as Max has to deal with a crime family to find new clues about the cult members, who are the main targets of his new case. In between, Max gets acquainted with Mona Sax, the contract killer, which expands the story and reveals more personal details about the protagonist.
