Las Vegas Strip casino signs superstar rock band for residency
Las Vegas Strip residencies have been known for hosting big-name pop, country, rock, jazz, and R&B singers and bands, as well as magician and comedy acts.
Most of the music on the Strip is pretty tame, with Barry Manilow, Donny Osmond, and Wayne Newton residencies available for those seeking a taste of classic Las Vegas entertainment. More modern pop singers include Adele, Bruno Mars, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and Lionel Richie, and classic rock bands on the Strip include The Eagles, Foreigner, and Santana.

Country music stars are well represented in residencies including Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, and Brad Paisley.
When it comes hip-hop and rap star residencies, the options have been pretty thin over the years. Wu-Tang Clan performed what is considered Sin City's first hip-hop residency at the Theater at Virgin Hotels for four shows over February and March 2024.
The Strip hosted its first major hip-hop residency when legendary New York hip-hop stars Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh joined DJ Cassidy for his "Pass the Mic Live" residency for six shows in July 2024 at Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip.
Legendary hip-hop artist Nas returns to his classic Las Vegas Strip residency at the Encore Theater at the Wynn Resort, accompanied by the Las Vegas Philharmonic, for three shows Feb. 5, 7, and 8 in 2025.
Superstar rappers Black Eyed Peas, featuring will.i.am, Apl.de.Ap and Taboo, with J. Rey Soul, have scheduled 15 shows on their 2025 residency in February, March, and May 2025.

Hard rock bands have also been scarce on the Strip. Mötley Crüe performed at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino over 10 years ago in 2013 and 2012.
While not many residencies are planned, big name metal rock bands are coming to Vegas for one-off shows. Iron Maiden rocks the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Oct. 5, while "Living After Midnight" singers Judas Priest arrives at PH Live at Planet Hollywood for a show on Oct. 16.
Scorpions return to Planet Hollywood residency
Finally, legendary hard rock band Scorpions returns to the Las Vegas Strip in 2025 for its "Coming Home to Las Vegas 60th Anniversary" residency at Caesars Entertainment's (CZR) PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, beginning Feb. 27 and continuing March 1, 6, 8 and 11.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. Pacific time at Ticketmaster.com.

"There couldn't be a better way than to start 2025 in Las Vegas with another residency at Planet Hollywood...come and celebrate with us our 60th anniversary and catch a rockin' good time...we gonna sting yaaaa!" lead singer Klaus Meine said in a statement.
The Hannover, Germany, band was founded in 1965 and was part of the first wave of metal bands in the 1970s with the launch of their first album "Lonesome Crow," in 1972. The band has sold 110 million records globally and enjoyed huge success in the 1980s with its "Love at First Sting" and "Blackout" albums, as well as popular singles "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "No One Like You," "Send Me an Angel," and "Wind of Change."
Scorpions last performed on the Strip for nine shows from April 11 through May 3, 2024, at Planet Hollywood's Bakkt Theater, before it was renamed PH Live, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of its "Love at First Sting" album.
Before its "Love at First Sting" residency, Scorpions performed its "Sin City Nights" residency in March and April 2022 at Planet Hollywood's former Zappos Theater. The band also played a five-show residency at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in May 2016.
