Pokemon Fan Designs Amazing New Evolution for Murkrow
- Fans create unofficial Pokemon evolutions, like one fan's Murkrow evolution, showcasing creativity and talent.
- Murkrow evolves into Honchkrow in official games, and has gained popularity in competitive scenes.
- Alternative "fakemon" evolutions for Pokemon like Drifblim and Farfetch'd demonstrate fan art diversity.
A talented Pokemonfan has recently designed an unofficial evolution for Murkrow. Right now, there are 1,025 different Pokemon across nine generations of games, but fans often create so-called Fakemon, which are fake creatures that do not appear in official products of the franchise, and this new evolution for Murkrow is an excellent example of how creative these unofficial designs can be.
Murkrow is a Dark/Flying-type Pokemon introduced in the second generation of the franchise, and it resembles a crow wearing a witch hat. While Murkrow did not have any official evolutions at first, it eventually gained the ability to turn into Honchkrow when exposed to the Dusk Stone, starting in Gen 4. In more recent games, Murkrow became a really popular pick in the competitive scene, due to a combination of gaining powerful abilities such as Light Screen and Reflect, and having immunity to Ground and Psychic-type attacks.
Pokemon Fan Creates Baby Form for Druddigon
A creative fan of the Pokemon franchise designs an adorable new baby Pokemon that serves as a pre-evolution for the Dragon-type Druddigon.
Now, a Pokemonfan called SayuriKoopa shared an alternative Dark/Fairy-type evolution for Murkrow on r/pokemon. Called Witchkrow, this new design turns the witch inspirations of the creature up a notch, giving the critter a humanoid body with huge claws, a bigger and more prominent witch hat, and some beads, all while still keeping the Pokemonâs original bird-like appearance. The unofficial design was beloved by the community, which gave several compliments to the creatureâs new looks.
Pokemon Fan's New Evolution For Murkrow
Alternative evolutions for Pokemon are a pretty popular topic for fan art. Last week, for example, another fan devised a new evolution for Drifblim. Named Hindenblim, this new form was greatly inspired by a zeppelin, and it kept the original monsterâs colors while changing its shape to look like the vehicle.
Another recent fanwork that stood out in the community was a new evolution for Farfetchâd, which looked like a goose with a mask, and was a Flying/Fighting-type Pokemon. While the Galarian regional variant of the duck Pokemon can evolve into a new creature, the original version did not, and this fan decided to correct that.
While alternative evolutions are popular, theyâre far from the only kind of fan art that gets some traction online. For instance, one fan created a Fire/Poison-type variant for Qwilfish recently. In this new form, the Pokemon became similar to a yellow sun, greatly changing some of its most prominent characteristics, and was an excellent example of how varied Pokemonfan art can be.
