Samuel L. Jackson Impressively Recites His “Pulp Fiction” Character's Infamous Speech from Memory for Film's 30th Anniversary Samuel L. Jackson in 'Pulp Fiction'

Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ starred Samuel L. Jackson as the menacing Jules Winnfield

Samuel L. Jackson is still a righteous man, 30 years on.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of his moviePulp Fiction, the actor, 75, posted a video to his social media accounts of him reciting Bible verse Ezekiel 25:17.

Seated on a couch in a striped cardigan and dark shirt, Jackson recreates the iconic speech he delivered as the menacing Jules Winnfield in the Quentin Tarantino classic. Unlike the movie’s fiery delivery, however, he is the picture of calm — and delivers the Biblical dialogue at record speed, clearly from memory.

“YOU KNOW I STILL GOT IT!!! EZEKIEL 25:17,” wrote Jackson in his caption on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. Alongside an emoji of a movie camera, he added, “HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF PULP FICTION.”

The crime drama, written and directed by Tarantino, 61, featured Jackson as the business partner of John Travolta’s hitman Vincent Vega. Both stars, as well as Uma Thurman for her work as Mia Wallace, received acting Oscar nominations at the 1995 ceremony, where the movie was also nominated for Best Picture.

As Jules, Jackson delivers Ezekiel 25:17 in an intense interrogation scene opposite Frank Whaley’s Brett. The moment, frequently cited as one of the best monologues in cinema, was also recreated on Jimmy Kimmel Live in January. Jackson was given the character’s Jheri-curled wig and delivered a theatrical yet more subdued version of the speech.

Also in honor of Pulp Fiction’s Oct. 14 release, Jackson shared another social media post consisting of throwback photos from the movie’s set. "It debuted in theaters on this day in 1994 and I’ll always remember the audience reaction,” he captioned the post. “I knew this film was something special after that…AND 30 YEARS LATER, IT STILL IS."

Jackson stars in the upcomingThe Piano Lesson (in theaters Nov. 8 and on Netflix Nov. 22), a movie adaptation of the August Wilson play he also starred in on Broadway. Among his other upcoming projects is the J.J. Perry film Afterburn.
