Meghan Trainor Stuns At ‘The Timeless Tour' At Madison Square Garden | Tour Stop | Billboard
Don't tick tock back. God damn it. There you go. Damn it. I know you want a film lose or billboard. Here we go. I see you. Because you know, I'm all about that bass, About that bass, No treble. I'm all about that bass. About that bass. No treble. I'm all about that bass. About that bass. Not treble. I'm all about that bass, About that bass. Eight years since I've toured. I talk about it every night with my crowds because I thank them for waiting for me. It's been incredible to come back and see the fans. And there's so many families that come out and they make signs that say like I was here 8 years ago and now I'm growing up, which is crazy to me. So we've been crushing it and my husband and I are like, do we like this? Like are we good at this? Playing MSG is a bucket list for sure. A dream come true. I still don't believe it until I get on the stage. My main goal tonight is don't cry. Because don't cry. Everyone today has treated me like it's my birthday and it's been a bigger deal than like going to award shows. They're like Happy MSG day, a day in the Life on tour with me. With my kids, we wake up early. With the babies, they wake up around 7:38. If we're lucky. We leave early, Darrell and I, to the venue because the kids have to take a nap at the hotel and then they meet us at the venue. I do Bobo warmups on the way to the venue and at 4:15 I do the VIP sound check where I sing a song. I'm going to be nervous all night. I got this. It's my 13th birthday. Happy birthday. Oh, no, mom, she's a teenager. You'll be OK. Your mommy loves you. She got you VIP. And then we do the working on it pod live with my older brother and my husband and we answer fan questions and we get to see a lot of people we recognize. Hi, everybody. Like who is stage fright Stacy, you. Oh, bless you. You're so cute. You got to pretend like they can't, like lie to yourself is what I do. I don't know if you've got to do that. I just know that I'm like, I'm a superstar 5678 in line, you know, like I want to make it till I make it. And then once the crowd starts screaming, I'm like, I'm believing it. I see her on the bus after these shows and she's like, how do you think? Like she like wipe mid makeup wipe asking me like, do you like what you did when like an hour ago I saw her be a pop star up there. Like she fully transforms, but then is just like my best friend as soon as we get back on the bus. This is my best friend. Thank you. Oh my God, I know I wouldn't be having this much fun without my bro and my bestie Chris Olsen on tour. They brighten my day. Chris Olsen walks in every day. Hello. Like that. My favorite part is being able to watch her perform every night. It's so fun. And my older bro is like my hype guy, my best friend. This one, it's like, oh, she's levelled up to mega, mega international sensation. Like it all just like clicked. I've never seen him work harder in his life and I could just feel the love he has for me and for all my fans. And it's just so sweet begging for letting us just lay on stage for a little. This is fun. I do gland before that. I do my makeup myself. Antoine does my hair and that's like an hour and a half. Then we hang out with the kids from like 5:00 to 6:30 and then we send them off with Daryl and Leslie and they go to the bus to go sleep. And I'm literally like picking boogers and like doing diapers. And then I get pop star ready and then I walk to stage and then I'm like, hi, I'm your mother. I am your mother and it's bizarre and it's a dream come true and it's I'm, I just, I really like it. It's a lot of work and I'm sleepy, but I'm crushing it. The only thing left to do is sell out MSG. That's but I don't know if I'll ever get to do that. And I'm doing it like it's doing it because, you know, I'm all about that bass. About that bass setlist is great and at first it was 35 songs and we realized it was a 2 hour show and I was like I cannot, I haven't toured in eight years. I don't even know if I can make an hour so let's cut it. And it was really hard to cut some songs and then I didn't know that criminals would blow up like it's doing. It's doing so great. It was number one added song on radio, so we had to add that to the setlist last minute. Megan writes from her heart. And when we when we work together, we create. It's not like we're intentionally trying to like make a viral moment or anything. So when things happen, we're genuinely shocked. We're like, oh shit. And Sean Ladonna has been by my side since I was 19 years old, terrified on all About that bass music video. Megan is so in it. Megan is like in everything. She's in the lighting, she's in the content, she's in the the choreo. I've been working with her for so long that we just, we just pair together work. And I kind of know what she wants. But the creative direction literally stemmed from just the idea of timeless and creating something that was iconic, that was timeless to her to put the show together. And I mean, she sold out Madison Square Garden. So it's like, yeah, get with it. I have so many surprises tonight for MSG. We have the infinite icon herself, Paris Hilton, here today. She's going to perform with me our single that we had called Jason. I'm going to freak out. And then I'm going to beg her to sing Stars Are Blind and we're going to do that song, and then all my childhood dreams will come true. Come on, New York. But I've been like this. I've been like this. I want my fans to be proud of themselves because a lot of my fans who made fan accounts like 10 years ago still have them and are still like pushing for me and fighting for me and posting for me. And people like Tetris, who I've known for 10 years. I'm like, we're playing MSG tonight, Tetris like we are here. We were at the Little Widow shows on the first round. Oh my gosh, that was my first tour ever and you was my best girl. And now we're here at MSG, and I don't understand what's going on, but I want my fans to be proud of themselves because they're the reason why we're all here tonight. And I want it to be like our show and our songs and our party. And I cannot wait. It's going to be great. Thank you so much, New York. Thank you so much. I'm Megan Trainer and this was a timeless time. Give it a good cry. I love you. Thank you so much. Thank you. Going to my door. Megan. I should go back.
