Everybody's looking for a hero. I am not a hero. That was a part I've played the part. I'm not that man. We didn't want to put our dad on a pedestal. We wanted to tell a RAW on his 360° portraits of who he was and what he went through. Mr. Grieve currently has no movement or spontaneous respiration. Superman, crazy, just that simple little thing over the horse. We knew from the beginning this was an independent film. We were going to hand over our archives and we were going to sit for interviews, but that we wouldn't have control beyond that. First thing that we decided that we were going to start more or less start with Chris waking up after the accident. We could then interweave his past through to see his rise and his journey prior to me coming along, told so cinematically, was a gift. The Superman audition, his skinny dad, massive sweat stains under his arm, shoe Polish on his head. It's priceless. They represented different aspect of Chris. We felt that the film should be about them and the film should be about family. We said goodbye and he gave this wave. That was the last time I saw him on his feet. We do think that there are so many people who are going to see elements of their own life in this story. People often ask how our families survived, and it turns out we now look back and realize every single person was being strong for the other people. And each of you leaning in, you've suddenly realized you're holding each other up. I felt as I needed to do something, not just for myself, but for everyone else in the same condition. Help is on the way. One of the areas where the Reef Foundation and others are most excited is technology that's used to stimulate the spinal cord and have people regain some function, some sensation. And we're seeing those breakthroughs now in such an incredible way, and we're really, really proud of it.
