PS Plus Free Games for November 2024 Explained
Each month, PS Plus subscribers are offered a handful of new games in place of the previous month's selection. The base tier for PS Plus, Essential, generally features three new games every month for subscribers of that tier up to the PS Plus Premium tier. Since October 2024 is now over, a brand-new lineup of games is on its way to PS Plus and will be playable on November 5.
November 2024's PS Plus selection is highly unique in comparison to recent months, with Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and DEATH NOTE Killer Within all now available for subscribers to download. DEATH NOTE Killer Within, in particular, is being added to PS Plus on its November 5 launch date, so subscribers will have the opportunity to experience the game for the first time without paying full price for it.
Dino Crisis Continues an Unfortunate Trend for PS Plus
The recent debut of Dino Crisis on the PS Plus Premium service continues an unfortunate trend.
1. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged
Read Game Rant's Review of Hot Wheels Unleased 2: Turbocharge
Regardless of its deceptive premise, the Hot Wheels Unleashed series has been well-received since it began in 2021. Last October saw the release of Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged, which, despite its average reception, was largely only received as such for lacking substantial improvements to the first game's formula. Nevertheless, it continues what the first game started by providing players with a fast-paced arcade racing experience that is quite unlike anything else out there. Players can race in five different environments in Turbocharged (an arcade, a family backyard, a mini-golf course, a museum, and a gas station diner), and can even create their own tracks as they could in the first game. Turbocharged also includes two new vehicle types, new abilities, and new gameplay modes.
2. Ghostwire: Tokyo
Read Game Rant's Review of Ghostwire: Tokyo
Ghostwire: Tokyo might be arriving on PS Plus a month too late, as its psychological horror elements would have been fitting for spooky season. Despite possessing some repetitive combat and gameplay elements, Ghostwire: Tokyo tells the story of a version of Tokyo, Japan where its entire population has vanished, tasking players with unraveling the mystery and making for quite a compelling premise. Ghostwire's gameplay sees players using various paranormal abilities and ghost-hunting skills to fend off the threat and restore Tokyo, with those skills being upgradeable as players progress. If Ghostwire: Tokyo wasn't worth trying before, it may be now that it is coming to PS Plus.
3. DEATH NOTE Killer Within
Of November 2024's three PS Plus titles, DEATH NOTE Killer Within is a brand-new release, set to launch the day it is added to the service. From a gameplay standpoint, DEATH NOTE Killer Within is essentially Among Us, in that it is a social deduction game. However, unlike Among Us, DEATH NOTE Killer Within is set in the world of the anime series Death Note and therefore features characters from the show as well. In the game, up to 10 players divide up into 2 teams (Kira and his followers or L and his investigators) to either eliminate L or seize the Death Note from Kira by uncovering each player's true identity. The game is online only and requires plenty of strategy from both teams if they wish to emerge victorious.
