EXCLUSIVE: Donna Kelce and ‘Holiday Touchdown’ stars send a message to Jenna Bush Hager

Independence, Missouri, is getting in the holiday spirit, five months early.

Filming for the upcoming Hallmark film, "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story," is in full swing around Kansas City. TODAY went behind-the-scenes with the cast and crew July 14 for a glimpse at production, seeing stars Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and yes, beloved NFL mom Donna Kelce, in action on the set of the movie.

The actors also left a special message for their co-star Jenna Bush Hager, wishing her "good luck" for her turn filming.

"We're so excited to see you," Kelce said, before the film's romantic leads, King and Hynes, offered some advice.

"Make sure you dress warm," Hynes said, showing off his costume, a thick black jacket. (To note, the temperature in Kansas City was 100 degrees.)

"And think Christmas-y thoughts," King added.

In the film, King plays Alana, a woman raised by a family of die-hard Chiefs fans who have entered the team's "Fan of the Year" contest, putting her in the same orbit as Derrick (Hynes), director of fan engagement. But when Alana’s grandfather (Ed Begley Jr.) loses a vintage good-luck hat, she loses her trust in fate, “until a little Christmas magic is thrown her way,” Hallmark and production company Skydance Sports said in a press release. Christine Ebersole, Megyn Price, Richard Riehle and Diedrich Bader will also star.

On Sunday, the cast filmed at a restaurant about 25 minutes from downtown Kansas City, transforming a local pizza restaurant into Norma and Nic’s, a fictional barbecue joint. Donna Kelce filmed in a long-sleeve black shirt, a red apron and wore a name tag identifying her as Donna, a manager.

In addition to Jenna and Kelce, "Holiday Touchdown" will feature appearances from Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, as well as players Trey Smith, Mecole Hardman, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and George Karlaftis.

"Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" is set to come out later this year, during Hallmark's 15th annual Countdown to Christmas event.
