Stevie Wonder, John Legend and Sheila E. Cover Prince's 'Let's Go Crazy' at the 2024 Democratic National Convention
Maren Morris also performed at the political event ahead of Tim Walz earning the Democratic vice presidential nomination
Tim Walz received a welcome from John Legend that felt like home!
During the third night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, Aug. 23, the "All of Me" hitmaker, 45, performed a song by one of Minnesota's most iconic artists — Prince. (Legend previously was part of a 2020 Grammys tribute for Prince where he sang"Nothing Compares 2 U.")
Joined by Prince collaborator Sheila E. and Stevie Wonder, the R&B/soul musician performed an energetic rendition of Prince and the Revolution's 1984 classic "Let's Go Crazy" from Purple Rain, per footage from KSDK News.
Throughout the performance, E. and Legend's energy was electric as the pair didn't stop moving throughout the entire track.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the "Tonight" singer also spoke about his support for Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I live in California, so I’ve gotten to watch her run for election multiple times,” Legend said of Harris in an interview with CBS Mornings. "And seen how smart and charismatic and empathetic and how ready she is for this, she’s prepared herself for this role."
He added: "She is eminently qualified to be president. And then she also has the right character traits I think to be a great president, which means she cares about people’s lives, wants government to work for people and improve their lives."

Earlier in the evening at the DNC, Maren Morris showed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris by performing her 2020 protest song, "Better Than We Found It."
While the track was initially released in the wake of George Floyd's murder to express the "Cut!" singer's support for the Black Lives Matter movement, Morris seemingly played it as a way to show the dichotomy between modern-day Democratic and Republican platforms.
"When lines of tomorrow are drawn / Can I live with the side that I chose to be on? / Will we sit on our hands, do nothing about it? / Or will we leave this world better than we found it?" the country star sang. "America, America, divided we fall / America, America, God save us all / From ourselves and the Hell that we've built for our kids / America, America, we're better than this."
