CNN anchor’s question makes veteran actor laugh

CNN anchor’s question makes veteran actor laugh
You have been acting for 30 plus years, but I think it's fair to say that you, most people have become aware of you in the last five years. How does it feel to hit it big at age 54 and can you just enjoy it or do you ever think to yourself why did it take so long? I think a little bit of both. So it feels incredible and it makes me smile and I feel it makes me feel warm and good because I get a lot of love coming at me. So I mean that's not a bad thing, especially at 54 years old. I mean it's kind of fun. I was first became aware of you, I think it was in 2019. When you were playing Ali, the the recovering addict who sponsors the main character in Euphoria, who played by Zendaya, you won an Emmy for playing Ali. Why do you think that role struck such a nerve? That scene in particular was shot coming right out of COVID. And it connected to all the things that I was feeling, whether we were just coming out of the summer of, you know, racial reckoning and. The pandemic. So I think that it really resonates. It still resonates too. It resonates to people who are struggling, who are really, you know, who are really struggling and need words to help define what they're feeling. If I'm able to do work like that, I feel like I'm going to, it's like the best feeling as an artist that I feel like I actually get to change lives.
