Bulls make surprising post-draft signing, add All-Big Ten shooting guard
The Chicago Bulls have been wildly active so far this offseason, and Chicago made another roster change on Thursday night directly following the conclusion of the NBA Draft.
With the start of free agency kicking off this Sunday, it was assumed that all would remain quiet on Chicago's front over the next 48 hours after selecting Matas Buzelis with the No. 11 pick in the first round of the draft.
Yet, despite lacking any second-round picks, the Bulls still made a move on Thursday.
Chicago signed former Illinois Fighting Illini wing Marcus Domask to an Exhibit 10 contract, meaning that Domask -- who went undrafted -- will be granted a spot in the Bulls' training camp in October, where he'll have the chance to earn a roster spot or two-way contract with Chicago.
Domask is a 6’6” wing with elite playmaking instincts and a notable midrange game.
The 24-year-old Domask was named First-Team All-Big Ten last season, averaging 15.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game for Illinois.
He excelled during the 2024 NCAA Tournament, recording just the tenth triple-double in NCAA Tournament history in Illinois' first-round victory over Morehead State.
Given the uncertain futures of both Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan in Chicago, the Bulls' depth chart could be light on wings heading into camp, which would give Domask a legitimate chance to make the team.
