Travis Kelce explains comment about leaving Chiefs
Travis Kelce seemed to cause a bit of a stir within the Kansas City Chiefs fanbase this week when he suggested that he could be interested in leaving the team to sign with an expansion team in London if that were ever to happen. But it sounds like he didn’t necessarily mean it.
During the most recent episode of his New Heightspodcast, Travis Kelce and his brother Jason were discussing the possibility of an NFL expansion team in London and whether or not they would consider playing overseas when Travis Kelce offered a pretty surprising opinion, revealing he’d consider leaving the Chiefs to play for a team in London.
“Yes… I’m waiting for that team to play for another team other than the Chiefs. Like, that’s the only situation (I’d leave the Chiefs) – if I get to play abroad,” Kelce said on the podcast.
Apparently, Chiefs fans didn’t like this statement from Kelce, prompting him to clarify on social media.
“Let’s be honest, I’d never leave the Chiefs… but playing in London sounds fun,” Kelce said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
It’s pretty clear at this point that Kelce is going to retire as a member of the Chiefs.
