Diana Taurasi Drops Honest Admission on Caitlin Clark After Sunday's Loss to Indiana Fever
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark appears to have earned the respect of Phoenix Mercury legend Diana Taurasi.
Clark and the Fever shocked the Mercury with a come from behind victory on the road. Taurasi shared what she's most impressed by from the WNBA rookie.
"It's amazing. What Caitlin's been able to do in her short career so far has been nothing short of remarkable. The one thing that I really love about her ... she's put the work in. Even throughout her short WNBA career, it's been a lot of pressure, a lot of things thrown at her and she keeps showing up and she keeps getting better every single game. So her future is super bright."
Taurasi's praise might carry extra meaning with Clark after watching her play basketball growing up. Leading up to the matchup the rookie spoke on how much she has looked up to Taurasi as she developed as a player.
Both players had good stat lines on Sunday. Taurasi put up 19 points, three rebounds, three steals and three assists. Clark added 15 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds.
Neither player had their best shooting performance from the outside. Both shot 2-for-10 from three point range.
Despite struggles from the outside, both player brought the intensity necessary to make the game competitive.
The Fever improve to 8-12 on the season. The Mercury fall to 9-9 following the loss.
