Caitlin Clark faces harsh criticism
Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark is undeniably the most popular player in basketball right now and is under a lot of pressure from fans and the media as a result. But not everyone is necessarily happy with the way that she is handling all of that pressure.
This week, Caitlin Clark was asked to recall some of the advice that she has received from veteran players on the court during games, with the reporter of course assuming that Clark had indeed been given advice from veterans. But Clark indicated that she hadn’t actually received advice from anybody.
“Nobody gives me advice in games,” Clark said with a slight smile.
“I wish,” she admitted a moment later.
While it didn’t seem to be a terribly offensive response to the question, Clark received some harsh criticism for the way she answered with many fans claiming that she was needlessly complaining and whining. Some even suggested that Clark was just looking for sympathy from fans and the media with her response.
Clark is undoubtedly the most high-profile rookie that the league has ever seen and she will undoubtedly continue to be criticized and scrutinized throughout this season and beyond. She’ll just have to learn how to deal with it.
