Browns QB Deshaun Watson now an afterthought among NFL coaches and executives
Entering the 2024 season, there is not a player in the NFL who needs to prove it more than quarterback Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns.
After a massive blockbuster trade that saw the Browns surrender their next three first round picks and more, Watson has now been in Cleveland for two seasons and started just 10 games due to his suspension in 2022 and shoulder injury in 2023. And when he has been on the field he has been a subpar performer.
Just as he has done for other positions around the NFL, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler has also polled anonymous coaches, scouts, and executives to find out how they view the quarterbacks around the NFL. And Watson was not mentioned once in an article that highlighted over half of the starters.
Watson has much to prove entering the crucial 2024 season. If he continues to fail to live up to the hype, the Browns will have an easy decision to make (even with his contract situation). As he continues to look to rebuild his image around the league, here are who NFL scouts, coaches, and executives listed as superior quarterbacks to the one the Browns have under center.
