Eagles announce 3 roster moves
The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced three roster moves on Wednesday afternoon. An overview:
- OL Jack Driscoll was signed from the practice squad to the active roster.
- WR Parris Campbell and DT Siaki Ika were signed to the practice squad.
Let’s sort through this news on a player-by-player basis.
JACK DRISCOLL
The Eagles temporarily elevated Driscoll to the game day roster each of the past two weeks. They could’ve done that one more time to max out his limit but they decided to just sign him to the roster instead. The Eagles had an open spot to work with after cutting Campbell on Tuesday.
With Jordan Mailata on injured reserve, Driscoll seems to be the swing tackle as the top backup behind both Fred Johnson and Lane Johnson. Driscoll also has experience playing at guard in addition to repping at center. So, an all-around versatile offensive lineman to have around.
The Eagles re-signed Driscoll back in early September after he had left in free agency to sign with the Miami Dolphins, where he didn’t end up sticking.
PARRIS CAMPBELL
Campbell is back on the practice squad after getting released by the Eagles one day prior.
With Campbell out of temporary practice squad elevations, the Eagles must sign him to their roster in order to have him available for a game.
SIAKI IKA
Ika, who turns 24 in early November, is a brand new addition.
After playing college football at LSU and Baylor, Ika was selected by the Cleveland Browns with a third-round pick (No. 98 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Ika only played 100 defensive snaps as a rookie, logging zero stats. The Browns waived him in late August and then re-signed him to the practice squad. Then they cut him two days after the Browns’ loss to the Eagles.
Now in Philly, the 6’3”, 335 pound Ika figures to provide nose tackle depth behind Jordan Davis. Of course, Ika is a lot less athletic than Davis is:
