Pankaj Tripathi teared up returning to Patna hotel where he worked: GM welcomed me
Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who hails from Patna, has made a name for himself in the Indian film industry. Now based in Mumbai, the actor recently spoke about revisiting the hotel in Patna where he once worked before becoming an actor.
In an interview with India Today's sister channel, Lallantop, Pankaj shared the emotions he felt when entering the hotel through its main door during his recent visit, a stark contrast to the back gate he used to enter when he worked there.
"Just before coming to the event, I met about 15 staff members from the hotel I worked at initially. Vikrant Massey was also there, and the entire hotel staff started telling him how we worked together," Pankaj shared.
He continued, "I used to enter the hotel from the back gate, where the staff used to enter. Today, I got to enter from the main gate, and the General Manager was there to welcome me. It made me so emotional."
The 48-year-old actor added that whenever he visits Patna, a lot of memories from his younger days come flooding back, and these memories "only make me feel that everything is possible in life. With sincerity and hard work, you can achieve all your dreams."
In an earlier appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, Pankaj Tripathi detailed how he worked in the hotel kitchen at night while doing theatre in the mornings.
"I used to work in a hotel kitchen at night and do theatre in the morning. After finishing my night shift, I would come back, sleep for five hours, then do theatre from 2-7 pm, and again work in the hotel from 11 pm to 7 am. I did this for two years," said Pankaj. He also mentioned that Manoj Bajpayee once stayed at the same hotel and he stole his slippers as a memento.
Pankaj Tripathi studied at the National School of Drama in Delhi and gained prominence in the Hindi film industry after featuring in Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur. He was recently appreciated for his performance in Stree 2.
