You can score a flight to Hawaii for $119 (but you have to act fast)
With the first whiff of winter weather starting to set in on many parts of the United States, many are already starting to dream about a sunny getaway in December, January or February.
And as airlines make the most money from those who feel that spontaneous bout of wanderlust, locking in a getaway early is the most reliable way to score some deals.
At the moment, Alaska Airlines (ALK) is in the last stretch of its “Winter Getaway” sale, offering discounted fares to both warm places like Hawaii and New Mexico and ski destinations such as Vail, Sun Valley and Steamboat Springs.

The sale has been running for the last two days and ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Nov. 14 (that’s today!). The fares, which include a $49 flight between Boise and Montana’s Bozeman and $119 flights to Honolulu from San Francisco and San Jose, are for travel betweenDecember 5 and March 19, 2025.
The lowest fares are one-way and for specific dates (usually in the middle of the week) that one can find by searching the specific flight one wants to take on Alaska’s website. Each ticket will also include $5.60 in taxes and airport fees.

“The slopes aren’t going to hit themselves,” Alaska Airlines writes on its website to promote the sale.
Some tickets can also be purchased in Alaska loyalty miles; one of the slashed fares includes a flight between Alaska’s Juneau and Hawaii's Maui for 20,000 miles and $6.
Other slashed fares included in the sale are a flight between Portland and Chicago for $99 or 7,500 miles and a flight between Washington, D.C. and San Diego for $129 or 10,000 miles.

For those who have Hawaii specifically on the mind, Southwest Airlines (LUV) is currently also holding a sale on popular routes to Honolulu, Maui and the Big Island.
The promo code HAWAII40 will get one 40% off such routes from different parts of the U.S. between Dec. 3 and May 22, 2025 but there are significant blackout periods throughout the holidays and popular spring break periods in February and March.
The sale also ends on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 11:59 p.m. PST and is valid for flights from cities such as Chicago, Seattle, Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Portland among others. As an airline based on the West Coast, Southwest has been working to carve out a significant slice of the market of Hawaii sun-seekers.
Meanwhile, Icelandic low-cost airline Play has similar sales for flights between East Coast U.S. cities like New York and Washington and European capitals like Paris, London, Amsterdam, Reykjavik and Athens.
The airline uses the low-cost model ofcharging $250 on certain flights to Europe in one direction and then adding additional fees for things like baggage and seat selection but also holds periodical flight sales in which the same routes are available for as little as $99 in each direction.

Travel13 Amusement Parks in the U.S. That Are Completely Free to Enter
A few even charge you nothing for parking and entertainment. Amusement parks are synonymous with so many wonderful things: fun in the sun, rollercoasters and carousels, games galore and delicious food. And all in a colorful, jubilant, family-friendly setting. The only issue? Joy like that does not typically come cheap. Or can it? Well, at these 13 amusement parks across the U.S., from the Golden to the Garden States, you can save on one very important front: entry. While the vast majority of amusement parks — including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Busch Gardens — require tickets just to walk through the gates, these resorts and parks do not. Of course, if you want to ride the rides or snack on the snacks, you'll still have to open your wallet. (A good thing can only go so far!) But if you're someone who's more about the vibes than the rides, this is the list for you. Make sure you scroll to the bottom: There's one very famous park that's about to go "open gate" with its water parks for guests staying on property. (Hint: It's home to a special mouse!)
