Condé Nast Traveller, a renowned travel publication known for uncovering hidden gems with the help of global experts, designed the list to inspire travel plans, focusing on destinations "worthy of your precious annual leave and hard-earned spending money."
To compile the list, the editors consulted their network of contributors worldwide, who highlighted locations gaining attention in tourism due to factors such as new cultural events, flight routes, or exciting hotel openings.

County Clare was recognized for its eco-friendly accommodations and celebration of traditional crafts, standing out among other top picks like the Faroe Islands and Vienna.
While millions of tourists flock to the renowned Cliffs of Moher on Ireland’s west coast, many overlook a nearby gem that’s equally stunning but far less crowded: the Kilkee Cliffs.
The Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most iconic attractions, draw visitors with their dramatic scenery, often captured in countless photos and recently featured in films like Lindsay Lohan’s Netflix rom-com Irish Wish. However, County Clare offers much more beyond this famous landmark.

In addition to charming towns like Doolin and unique sites such as the Aillwee Cave, the Kilkee Cliffs stand out with their rugged beauty, reaching heights of 70 feet. While not as towering as the Cliffs of Moher, they are equally captivating. Visitors can fully immerse themselves in the scenery along the five-kilometer Kilkee Loop Walk, which offers stunning views of sites like the shipwreck at Intrinsic Bay, Foonagh Bay, and Moveen Hill.
Located on the Loop Head Peninsula in southern County Clare, near the border with County Kerry, the Kilkee Cliffs boast some of the Wild Atlantic Way's most breathtaking vistas. Just over an hour’s drive from the Cliffs of Moher, these quieter, less crowded cliffs are gaining recognition among travelers for their serene paths and awe-inspiring views, rivaling their more famous counterpart.
One enchanted visitor wrote on Tripadvisor, "I enjoyed the views more than the Cliffs of Moher. These were definitely less touristy." Meanwhile, another explorer advised, "Don't miss this. Local told us about it. Can see cliffs very similar to Moher. We thought this was better. Not as touristy and FREE. Go to parking at end of Kilkee and take this good long walk up the cliffs. You won't regret it."
