Whoopi Goldberg pretends to spit on “The View” stage after accidentally saying Donald Trump's name
"Ugh," Goldberg said after breaking her personal vow to never say Trump's name during a live show.
Whoopi Goldberg attempted to cleanse the sacred aura of The View set after she accidentally muttered Donald Trump's name at the Hot Topics table.
Breaking her long-held vow to never say the former president's full name on the air (she usually calls him "You-Know-Who"), the Oscar-winning Ghost actress let his name slip on Tuesday's episode — but, she quickly purged the evil energy from her general area when she paused to perform a saliva-based ritual.
"I think it would be remiss of us to not say, Joe Biden knows how to do this. He knows how to do this, he's quite good at this. You can't refute anything with him — when I say him, I mean..." she trailed off during a discussion about Thursday's upcoming presidential debate before Joy Behar said "Trump," prompting Goldberg to say "Trump" herself.
"Ugh," Goldberg continued, stopping herself mid-sentence to pretend to spit on the stage while the audience applauded.
"Did you say his name?" cohost Sunny Hostin excitedly asked, to which Goldberg responded by playfully accusing Behar of scheming to get her to say it: "I said his name. It was a trick, and it made me do it!"
The moment marked the second time this year Goldberg said Trump's name during a live broadcast.
Earlier in May, Goldberg made a rare Friday appearance on the talk show (she typically has the day off) alongside all of her cohosts, as the panel united to break down Trump's conviction on 34 felony counts.

"Do not adjust your TV set. Yes, I'm here on a Friday because this is a very unique moment in history. That's why we're all at the table," Goldberg said. "I'm going to say something you've never ever heard me say before: Donald John Trump is a convicted felon."
Goldberg made up for all the times she didn't say Trump's name at the end of the special episode by repeating the word "guilty" over 30 times to celebrate his conviction by a Manhattan jury.
The Viewairs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
