Lenovo Tab Plus: 11.5″ tablet with 8 JBL speakers is coming to Malaysia this July
If you’re looking for a mid-range tablet that’s big on sound, Lenovo has announced its new Lenovo Tab Plus which features an 8-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos. The tablet is expected to be available in Malaysia next month and it competes with the likes of the Honor Pad 9.
Lenovo Tab Plus features
The Lenovo Tab Plus gets a rather interesting design as the lower section has a hump to house its speakers and a kickstand. According to Lenovo, this entertainment-focused tablet delivers an outstanding sonar experience with eight JBL speakers with a Hi-Fi matrix structure tuned by Dolby Atmos.
The speaker setup features four matrix tweets and four force-balanced woofers housed in 4 speaker boxes, for more pronounced bass and clearer treble. It also supports high-res audio of 24-bit and 96kHz when you plug in your headphones and yes, it does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For added versatility, the tablet doubles as a Bluetooth speaker, allowing you to play music streamed from your smartphone. For a more seamless video viewing experience, the built-in kickstand allows up to 175 degrees of viewing flexibility.
In terms of specs, the front display is an 11.5″ 90Hz LCD panel that pushes a 2K resolution (2000×1200 pixels) with 400 nits of brightness. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek G99 processor with 8GB of RAM and it can be configured with either 128GB or 256GB of storage which is expandable via microSD card.
The tablet gets an 8MP main camera for the rear and an 8MP front camera. In terms of connectivity, this is a WiFi-only device and it supports 802.11ac WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Powering the device is an 8,600mAh battery, rated for up to 12 hours of streaming. It supports 45W fast charging via the USB-C port and Lenovo is bundling a 68W USB-C wall charger.
Overall, the Lenovo Tab Plus weighs 650g which is 177g heavier than the 10th gen iPad and almost 100g heavier than the Honor Pad 9. It is 7.77mm thin at the thinnest point and 13.58mm with the bump included.
Out of the box, the Lenovo Tab Plus runs on Android 14 and they are promising 2 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security patches until June 2028.
Lenovo Tab Plus Malaysia Pricing and Availability
According to Lenovo Malaysia, the Tab Plus will be available in Malaysia with an expected date of 21st July 2024. The tablet is expected to be priced at RM1,599 and will come bundled with the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus, Lenovo Tab Plus Sleeve and Lenovo Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard.
