Chris Tiu when told he's the closest to a 'perfect' man: 'I'm far from that'
A businessman, host, model, and former professional basketball player.
Chris Tiu wears a lot of hats and is admired by many, but he's also the first to say he's far from being the perfect guy.
The "iBilib host" guested on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Friday, where he was asked what he thought about he being considered as the closest to the concept of "a perfect man." Tito Boy said the assumption came from a survey done with the "Fast Talk" community.
"Reaction ko (my reaction), well, I don't know if it's good they think of me that way but ako (me), personally, I'm far from that and I'm constantly trying to improve and to get better," he said.
"Marami akong (I have a lot of) faults, flaws, and things that I'm working on and struggling with. I'm not sure if I want people to think I'm perfect because I'm far from that but I guess thank you."
Chris also shut down the assumption that he, like many basketball players, was "matinik sa babae" or popular with the ladies.
In fact, he admitted that he was "torpe" at the height of his basketball career.
"Torpe ako eh, hindi ako marunong dumiskarte (I don't know how to make moves)," he shared, adding that he and his wife, Clarisse Ong, were together for more than a decade beforetying the knot in 2013. The two are parents to Amanda Claireand Mari Diana.
Chris also shared that while he experienced a few women gravitating towards him while he was actively playing, he would just tell women straight up that he has a girlfriend.
"Diretso na, pero I think they don't gravitate towards me if parang feel nila hindi rin ako 'yung type that would entertain siguro, tingin ko ah," he said.
[I tell it straight, but I think they won't gravitate towards me if they feel that I'm not the type who'd entertain them, in my opinion]
"May mga mapilit ah (there are those who are persistent)," Tito Boy replied. "How did you handle that?"
"Paano nga ba? Wala, dedma lang. Out of curiosity minsan sige papakinggan mo and then after medyo cold siguro," he said.
[How did I handle that? Nothing, I just ignore. Out of curiosity sometimes, okay, I'll listen and then after that I become a bit cold, I guess]
"These are things I never really talked about or napag-isipan kaya nahihirapan ako sumagot kasi (thought about so I'm struggling to answer because) you don't really talk about or think about it much."
