Diego Loyzaga holds party for daughter's birthday, baptism
It was a festive double celebration for Diego Loyzaga's daughter Hailey Paige Loyzaga, who turned one on her baptismal day.
Diego and his partner Alexis Suapengco shared on social media on May 26, 2024, how they commemorated their firstborn's special day with a heartwarming gathering of their family and closest friends.
One video from the party shows the 29-year-old celebrity dad making the guests laugh as he recalled falling into sleep just as Alexis was going through birthing labor.
He recounted, "7 pm on May 22nd, and yes ang tagal ng labor niya, sobrang tagal ng labor niya.
"It was so difficult—so difficult I fell asleep."

CELEBRITY GUESTS
Photos from the event capture Diego's former leading ladies Cristine Reyes, Julia Barretto, and Coleen Garcia, joining in the festivities.
One photo shows Diego's dad, the veteran actor Cesar Montano, all smiles with his one-year-old granddaughter bundled in his arms.
DIEGO PREPARES FOR THE CELEBRATION
Hailey's birthday bash was a success thanks to Diego's efforts, who worked multiple jobs simultaneously to make it happen.
He told the press during the mediacon for Isang Gabi on April 24, 2024, "In the first week of May, I’m doing five back-to-back rakets just to afford her birthday party.
"Not that I can’t afford it, but, you know, money out is still money out.
"Pandagdag lang because hindi ko akalain na ang first birthday niya ay gagastos din pala ako na parang higit sa isang debut na pala!
He continued: "I am doing everything in my power to be able to… I’ve said so much, e.
"I really promised so much. I want to be able to provide.
"And even though sinasabi ko na hindi naman niya maalaala yung first birthday niya, ang laging sinasabi ng nanay ng baby ko ay, ‘Pero tayo, maaalaala natin ito.’
"Wala akong takas!"
BUSINESS VENTURE
Apart from his career in the entertainment industry, Diego is also looking forward to having a stable income stream from other sources, such as business ventures.
"If you ask me how inspired I am, this is our first choice of career, di ba? Kami naman, showbiz," he related.
"But I am starting to think about branching out already for… I’m 29 next month.
"So nagsimula na akong magnegosyo, which I never thought I would enter before and it doesn’t end. It keeps on going.
"Ang dami ko nang ibang mga ginagawa na sideline na trabaho."
He went on, saying: "I was asking Direk Mac backstage, ‘Guys, I fly in on this day from Japan and the next day, dapat mag-Cebu.
"'The next day Bohol, and after that, Mindanao. Gawin ko ba?’
"Sabi ni Direk Mac, ‘Go, if the renumeration is worth the aggravation. You can do it, you’re young.’"
Direk Mac refers to Direk Mac Alejandre, the director of Diego and Coleen's film Isang Gabi.
Diego continued, "Makuwento ko lang, last weekend, we drove five hours sa Nueva Ecija, five hours to Pangasinan.
"From Pangasinan, I drove seven hours back to Caloocan, and that was all in… a little more than 24 hours.
"Twenty-one hours on the road pa lang, just to do three back-to-back rakets. I’m very motivated."

BEING PRESENT
In an episode of Toni Talks on YouTube that was uploaded on November 19, 2023, Diego spoke from his experience as a son raised solely by his mom Teresa Loyzaga.
He related having met his dad, Cesar, when he was already 13 years old.
He said that the one thing he could promise was to spare his daughter the identity crisis he faced as a child.
Revealing in the interview how that phase had affected him, Diego recalled, "I was a different person. Kaya lagi kami nagko-collide noon.
"It took me to reach 28 to finally understand my dad as a human, as a parent.
"There's sometimes like a question mark, how I should do things, my character, what I really want. I guess you pick that up from the dad."
Now that he's a dad himself, he resolved: "Di ko paparamdam sa anak ko yung naramdaman ko."
SELF-HELP AND GROWTH
Diego then opened up about his anger management issues during a difficult period in his life, about his struggles with suicidal thoughts, alcohol, and substances, about his two years in rehab.
He admitted to taking "a very long time" to finding himself, spending years on self-improvement activities.
He's been on the mend ever since, referring to his journey of fatherhood as one of his biggest blessings.
