Cita Astals makes emotional appearance at ‘Home Along Da Riles’ reunion
The cast of the iconic 1990s sitcom ‘Home Along Da Riles’ experienced an emotional reunion as Cita Astals, who played a beloved character on the show, joined her former co-stars.
Claudine Barretto took to Instagram to share heartfelt moments from the gathering, capturing the joy and tears as the Cosme family warmly welcomed Cita. Hugs and affectionate greetings were exchanged, highlighting the deep bond among the cast members.
“Welcome back, Cita Astals!”Claudine exclaimed in her post. “The family was lost for a while, but now it’s back.”
Maybeline dela Cruz expressed her delight at the reunion, noting the enduring closeness among the cast. “Lahat sila nagtatanong where’s Tita Cita. Finally noong nakita ko ‘yung reaction nung mga kapatid ko sa ‘Home’ sila Tita Nova nandoon pa rin ‘yung closeness, nandoon pa rin ‘yung warm ng bawat isa.”
Smokey Manaloto added, “Noong niyakap namin siya, parang kahit na walang salita na lumalabas, naiintindihan namin. Naiintindihan namin siya.”
Claudine reflected on the significance of the reunion, stating, “Ito na, paunti-unti, pa kumpleto na kami.”
Gio Alvarez also shared his thoughts, saying, “The family was lost for a while, but now it’s back.”
Cita Astals, who portrayed Hillary Lagdameo—the kind and understanding boss of Kevin Cosme, played by Comedy King Dolphy—was a central figure in the show’s success.
‘Home Along Da Riles’ aired on ABS-CBN from December 1992 to August 2003, leaving a lasting impact on Philippine television and its audience. The reunion served as a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy and cherished memories of the beloved sitcom.
