Ria Atayde, Zanjoe Marudo expecting first baby

Congratulations are in order for the couple, Ria Atayde and Zanjoe Marudo, who are expecting their first baby.

Finally, on Sunday, June 16, 2024, Ria confirmed the pregnancy news via an Instagram post.

She also took the opportunity to greet Zanjoe on Father’s Day.

The 32-year-old actress’ caption read, "To the dad you already are and the dad I know you'll be. Love you @onlyzanjoemarudo, so excited for this new chapter with you [emoji] Happy first Father's Day! [Emoji]"

The Instagram post included Zanjoe and Ria's beach snapshots.

One photo from their scenic getaway shows the pair side-by-side as they hold each other’s hands.

In the second photo, Ria's baby bump is evident, while Zanjoe jokingly flaunts his tummy, too.

RIA ATAYDE ADDRESSES PREGNANCY DENIAL RUMORS

Amid the wave of congratulatory messages from celebrities, influencers, and fans, a few netizens tried raining on her parade.

"Hahahahah...tpos ddeny png buntis! susme," one Instagram user commented.

The actress-producer replied, "We never denied anything, Madam. We just didn't think we owed anyone an announcement. [Smiling face] thank you for the support po."

A lot of fans applauded Ria's calm reaction to the comment.

A netizen wrote, "Classy response to a tasteless comment, brava! Happy fathers's day to Zanjoe! And, wishing you a healthy and safe pregnancy."

Another user threw in, "Kahit pa they're public figure couple.. di nila kailangan e announce lahat na mga happenings sa buhay nila.. di naman nila deniny NO COMMENT lang sila."

One fan said, "Let’s just be happy for them. Children are always blessing from God. I'm happy for them and really like @ria for @onlyzanjoemarudo."

RIA AND ZANJOE’S CIVIL WEDDING

One month after their engagement, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate civil ceremony at the Quezon City Hall on March 23, 2024, officiated by Mayor Joy Belmonte.

It was witnessed only by their family members, including Ria’s brother, Congressman Arjo Atayde, and his wife Maine Mendoza; younger brother Xavi and younger sister Gela; parents, Sylvia Sanchez and Art Atayde.

Zanjoe’s family was also in attendance: his father Zosimo Marudo and siblings Zosanne, Zjaye, Zaniejean, and Zandro, who was accompanied by his wife Evangeline.

Following the ceremony, the couple hosted a reception at Concept Space Manila in Quezon City.

Among the celebrity guests who attended the wedding reception were Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Joshua Garcia, Darren Espanto, and Enchong Dee.
