Ashley Rivera has recently embarked on her "running era," and she is certainly embracing the challenge.

Earlier this month, the actress and content creator participated in a run that pushed her limits.

Ashley documented her experience in a TikTok video posted on June 4, 2024, where she is seen nauseous and being attended to by medics after attempting to complete a 10-kilometer run in one hour.

Taking about the experience, Ashley told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Ay, susuka pero hindi susuko! Katulad sa event na ito, susuka pero hindi susuko dahil masarap ang Ginebra, di ba?"

Ashley added, "Goal ko nga kasi, nung Sunday na race, gusto ko one hour yung 10 kilometers.

"Ang nangyari, sinagad ko, nagsuka-suka ako. So, hindi ako umabot. Hindi ako umabot doon sa goal ko."

The press interviewed Ashley during the World Gin Day celebration hosted by Ginebra San Miguel on June 4, 2024, at the Novotel Hotel in Araneta City, Cubao.

Ashley related she managed to complete the 10-kilometer run in an hour and five minutes.

She jokingly said, "Tinapos ko pero tapos na rin yung pagkatao ko doon. Yung pagkatao ko sa finish line."

But seriously, Ashley told the press about her resolve to continue the running journey she had just begun and make progress along the way.

Her goal is to complete a 10-kilometer run within 1 hour.

She said, "I'm so happy na kapag run-run na ako, feeling ko meron ako contribution sa society.

"Tapos, alam mo yun, healthy living na tayo. Balance lang natin yung life natin, di ba?

"Sabi ko, 'Kaya ko ba yung 10k?' It's all in the mind, you know. So, ako naniniwala ko if you want something, you put your mind into it and makukuha mo siya.

"It's kind of like manifesting. But you gotta do your thing, your contribution for it to make it really happen."

According to Ashley, there is more about running than just the thrill of reaching a goal.

Speaking from experience, she found running to be, apart from benefitting one's health, a good exercise to nurse a broken heart.

She said, "Alam mo, iba talaga nagagawa pag heartbroken ka, e. Ang dami mong magagawa sa buhay mo.

"So naging challenge lang siya hanggang sa tuluyan na ako nalulong sa running. And I'm so happy because it's so fun.

"And, hello! Tignan mo naman, nakaka-slim ang cardio!"

Although she hasn't reached her goal yet, Ashley is proud of her progress, especially considering she started running only recently.

"It's okay I mean, feel kong grabe na yung improvement mo knowing na nung April lang naman ako nag-start.

"And I'm not a pro runner, but I do train and I do enjoy the process so, okay naman siya."
