Known as Dongz Apatan on his channel, he was reportedly rushed to the hospital on June 14, 2024, following a mukbang session with fried chicken as the main course.

In the report given by GMA News' 24 Oras, it was found out that Dongz eventually succumbed to his health issues, dying the next day on June 15.

HEMORRHAGIC STROKE

Cardiologist Dr. Tony Leachon explained that the findings show how Dongz had suffered from blood clots in his brain, leading to a hemorrhagic stroke.

"Ibig sabihin, tumaas ang blood pressure niya, pumutok yung ugat sa brain niya. So, ang kinamatay niya e hemorrhagic stroke," he noted.

On the probability of food choices being the main cause of such medical state, Dr. Tony responded: "Maalat ang kinakain, pangalawa, siyempre, ang pagkain niyan e karne.

"Every day mo gagawin yan, so, magbabara yung ugat mo rin sa brain. So, stroke pa rin, e. Kamamatay mo yan.

"The other one, puwede ka rin magka-heart attack," he stated.

As a precaution, he advised that moderation is key to maintaining good health, recommending fish and chicken over red meat.

"Kung kakain, dapat kalahati lang ng plato ang may kaning kasing laki ng kamao at maliit na serving ng karne," he said.

"Almost half of the plate, ay gulay, 'tapos prutas."

DONGZ'S SISTER ADDRESSES MISINFORMATION

Meanwhile, Dongz's sister Leah Apatan, was vocal about how some shared posts were spreading negativity and false information regarding her brother.

On top of the list are people making jokes out of Dongz's passing.

"Nasasaktan talaga kami na ginagawa siyang katatawanan ng mga tao na parang walang respeto dahil sa content na kinukuha na hindi tama ang info," Leah related.

"Kasi ang daming comment na si Manoy lang daw kasi deserve daw mamatay dahil gahaman sa pagkain. Pero content lang naman yan."

She asserted that contrary to the belief that Dongz was a greedy person, he was actually someone who was generous and always willing to help others.

Leah emphasized that Dongz's content was often misunderstood, and the negative comments did not reflect his true character.

Dongz's personal channel even shows a couple of individuals whom he had assisted in the past, posting testimonial videos that conveyed their experiences with the vlogger.

These videos highlighted how Dongz had supported them in various ways.

As of writing, Leah is seeking assistance for the education of Dongz's three children. Additionally, his kids will also be the ones to take over and manage his channel.
