Xian Lim and Iris Lee make first public appearance holding hands at ‘Kuman Thong’ premiere

The premiere night of the horror-thriller film ‘Kuman Thong,’ directed by Xian Lim, was held on July 1 at SM North Cinema, attracting a full house in two theaters.

Xian Lim, accompanied by his girlfriend Iris Lee, made a grand entrance on the red carpet, delighting fans and media alike.

The event was also attended by the film’s lead stars Cindy Miranda, Althea Ruedas, Emmanuel Esquivel, and Thai actor Max Nattapol.

This public appearance marked the first for Xian and Iris since they confirmed their relationship. Their chemistry was evident as they held hands and interacted with fans, with Iris Lee, the film’s associate producer and co-writer, receiving special attention from Xian throughout the evening.

Xian’s visible care and attention towards Iris, especially during the premiere, led many to comment on how he seems to have fully moved on from his previous relationship with Kim Chiu. The couple’s affectionate demeanor was a highlight for many attendees.

The ‘Kuman Thong’ production team received positive feedback following the premiere. Viewers praised Xian’s directorial efforts and the performances of the cast, including Cindy Miranda, Althea Ruedas, Emman Esquivel, Max Nattapol, and Thai actress Jariya Therakaosal. The film’s suspenseful scenes and striking visuals, shot largely in Thailand, were particularly appreciated by the audience.

‘Kuman Thong’ centers on Clara (Cindy Miranda), who travels to Thailand with her daughter Katie (Althea Ruedas) to seek the blessing of Namfon (Jariya Therakaosal), the mother of her fiancé, Sai Chon (Max Nattapol). Namfon is unhappy with her son’s decision to move to the Philippines, believing Clara is unprepared for marriage, especially as she is still mourning her deceased son, Isaac (Emman Esquivel).

In Thailand, Clara meets a shaman who performs a ritual using Isaac’s ashes and gives her a Kuman Thong, promising that Isaac might return if she cares for it. Despite Namfon’s objections, Clara hides the Kuman Thong, hoping to reunite with her son. As Clara begins to make offerings, their once peaceful home is disrupted by strange occurrences. Clara starts to feel Isaac’s presence, and though their family faces danger, Clara and Katie are thrilled to have Isaac “back.” However, it becomes clear that more than Isaac’s spirit threatens their family, revealing dark secrets that will change their lives forever.

‘Kuman Thong (Black Magic Baby)’ is set to be released nationwide beginning July 3, promising a thrilling addition to the horror genre with its mix of suspense, cultural mythology, and powerful performances, brought to audiences by Viva Films.
