Warning issued against harassment of members of girl group Bini

MANILA, Philippines — Alleged incidents of harassment involving members of the girl group Bini will be dealt with appropriately, their talent agency warned in a social media advisory on Friday.

The warning from ABS-CBN's Star Magic came in response to reports circulated online involving Aiah and Maloi.

A video showing someone purportedly invading Aiah's personal space at a Cebu bar went viral.

AJ Fernan, the individual involved, posted a screenshot of his apology to the P-Pop star on Facebook saying, "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," he wrote.

He also apologized to management, fans, and others affected.

Fernan clarified that his intention was not to scare or harm Aiah, but rather to express admiration for her beauty. However, some criticized his apology as insincere, accusing him of seeking attention.

This led to the hashtag #KasuhansiAJFernan trending on social media, with fans urging Star Magic to take legal action.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Maloi found herself surrounded by fans seeking photos while she dined with her family in Batangas.

"We would like to remind everyone that any unwelcome action or advance toward a woman in a public place that threatens her personal space may constitute gender-based street and public space sexual harassment," Star Magic said in a statement.

The agency concluded with an appeal to respect the personal space and privacy of their artists, particularly during their time off.

"As such, we enjoin everyone to respect the personal space and privacy of our talents. More so during their personal time off. Rest assured that we will take appropriate action to protect our artists," it added.

In a video on Bini's social media, Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi addressed the incidents, noting the group's desire for rest after their three-day "BINIverse" concert.

"I hope that when our members are spending their personal time, especially with their families and friends, you will also show respect for their privacy and personal space. They are also human beings who need to interact with others," Dyogi said.

"I appeal to the Blooms and other supporters: I know you are excited to see them, but please remember that they have come from a very hectic schedule these past few months. We also want to give them a chance to enjoy some semblance of a regular life. Let's give them the opportunity to enjoy it without others crossing boundaries. I appeal to everyone to respect Bini's personal space and privacy," he added.

Bini members have not commented on the incidents as of posting time.
