Pinky Amador’s new ‘Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap’ character Morgana Go trends for familiar lines
Pinky Amador’s new character in “Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap,” Morgana Go, has gone viral online for her familiar lines.
According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Friday, some netizens on X (formerly Twitter) quipped that the series has been running long enough that even the characters have become updated with recent happenings.
Among Morgana’s lines are ,“Ang maalala ko lang, lumaki kasi ako sa farm kasama ko ‘yung papa ko” and “Wala akong maalala, your honor.”
Pinky said that she took a short break from the series for a stage play in Singapore and that the creative team planned her comeback well.
“Pinanganak po siya sa farm. Medyo mahirap lang daw po sila at tsaka, ano, lumaki siya kasama ng papa niya at si Teacher Juvilyn,” she said.
Her character, Morgana Go, seemed to have taken inspiration from suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, whose contested identity and alleged involvement in illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators are now the center of controversy. In a Senate hearing back in May, she claimed that she is a love child of her father with their maid, and that she grew up on a farm.
Pinky said that her character Morgana was inspired during the hearings at the time.
“Tamang-tama, sumabog ‘yung hearings, so sabi, ‘Teka muna what if gawin nating Chinese-inspired, tapos may mga ganong kaganapan for the relevance,’” Pinky said.
Pinky also shared that she was challenged because she had to wear prosthetics, learn the language, and also learn wushu for her new character.
Aside from Morgana, new characters played by Gladys Reyes and Mark Herras were also introduced.
"Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap" has been on air for almost two years now.
It stars Jillian Ward, Carmina Villarroel, Richard Yap, and more.
In January, Pokwang appeared on the series and brought laughter.
