‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’ creatives criticized for plot twists
The return of Pinky Amador’s character in GMA Network’s top-rating afternoon prime series ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’ has sparked mixed reactions from netizens.
Amador, who originally played Moira Tanyag, reappears as Morgana Go, leaving many viewers bewildered.
Viewers noted the familiar dialogue of Morgana, who is introduced as Moira’s half-sister. Moira was killed off and cremated in earlier episodes, leading to confusion and surprise when Amador returned as Morgana Go, a character who supposedly grew up on a farm and was homeschooled by a ‘Teacher Jubilyn.’
The confrontation scenes between the characters played by Dina Bonnevie and Richard Yap and Morgana Go reminded audiences of the Senate hearing led by Sen. Risa Hontiveros against Alice Guo, the controversial mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, who is embroiled in issues related to POGO.
Netizens expressed their frustration, calling for the show to end due to the convoluted plot.
Despite these criticisms, it was revealed that Morgana and Moira are the same person, with Moira’s death staged with the help of friends in the medical field.
In fairness, despite the story’s twists and turns, the show has managed to retain its audience’s interest and maintain high ratings. ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’ remains the #1 most-watched daytime drama, drawing viewers both on TV and online. The show has also tackled various current events in the past, keeping it relevant to its audience.
As of now, GMA Network has not commented on the netizens’ call to end the series. Despite the criticisms, the show continues to perform well in the ratings and remains a hot topic on social media.
