Carla Abellana grateful for ‘Widows' War’ success
Carla Abellana is all sorts of thankful for the continued success of “Widow’s War.”
At the GMA Gala 2024 red carpet, the Kapuso Star said the whole team is “extremely grateful.”
“Lalo kami na-e-excite mag-work. Sulit lahat ng pagod,” Carla said.
“Every taping day, we start the day right, end it on a positive note. We clap for each other, we congratulate one another so we’re very grateful for the high ratings. Sana maging consistent,” the actress added.
While Carla was blooming at the biggest showbiz event, she admitted she did not prepare for the gala as much because of the busy schedule on “Widow’s War.”
“We’ve been taping out of town. Laging malayo, laging late pack-up. We get home breakfast na, so really there wasn’t much preparation for the gala tonight. Kaya buti na lang, thank God for a fantastic glam team,” she said.
Carla was a sight to behold in a sparkling gold sequined dress and matched it with gorgeous jewelry. She headlines "Widows' War" with Bea Alonzo, who earlier expressed how proud she is to star in the top-rating series.
"Widows’ War" is a spinoff of the popular GMA-7 murder-mystery series "Royal Blood" and "Widow's Web."
Carla and Bea Alonzo are joined by a stellar cast, which includes Tonton Gutierrez, Jean Garcia, Rita Daniela, Jeric Gonzales, Benjamin Alves, Juancho Triviño, Jackie Lou Blanco, James Graham, and more.
Carla and Bea play former best friends Georgina and Samantha. They both lose their husbands and become sworn enemies as they search for justice for their loved ones.
“Widows’ War” is directed by award-winning filmmaker Zig Dulay and airs weekdays at 8:50 p.m. on GMA Prime.
The GMA Gala 2024 is currently happening at the Grand Ballroom of Marriott Hotel Manila. It is the network’s annual thanksgiving celebration that gathers an expected 1,000 guests. Stars are set to appear in their black, white, and sparkly attire.
The GMA Gala also serves as a fundraising event for the benefit of the GMA Kapuso Foundation. This year, it is a celebration of Philippine pride.
