Pokwang disheartened by incident with GCash account, platform vows to resolve issue

Actress Pokwang expressed frustration over a recent issue with her GCash account, taking to Instagram on Saturday to share her experience.

According to her post, Pokwang discovered that her e-wallet funds had suddenly vanished. “Naghahanap buhay po ako ng marangal nagbibigay po ako ng hanap buhay sa mga single mom, tapos isang umaga pagkagising mo simot ang laman,” she wrote.

GCash responded to the concerns by addressing the incident in a public statement. The e-wallet company clarified that an ongoing system reconciliation error affected a limited number of users, causing funds to appear missing from their accounts.

“A few GCash users were affected due to errors in an ongoing system reconciliation process,” the company stated, without detailing the extent of the issue.

Assuring customers of the safety of their accounts, GCash noted that these cases were “isolated incidents” and that wallet adjustments are currently in progress. “We have identified and reached out to affected accounts. Wallet adjustments are ongoing,” GCash said, emphasizing that they are actively working to restore the missing funds.

This is not the first time GCash has faced unauthorized deduction complaints. Last year, the platform resolved a similar cybersecurity incident, successfully restoring users’ balances.
