Is it easier to sing in love or heartbroken? Hannah Precillas, Daryl Ong answer
Hannah Precillas and Daryl Ong guested on Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," where they talked about music and their singing careers.
Among the questions Tito Boy asked the "Tanghalan ng Kampeon" judges was if it was easier for them to sing in love or heartbroken.
Hannah recalled a time when she struggled to sing during a time when she was heartbroken, saying it's harder for her to sing with a broken heart.
"Kahit anong gawin ko kailangan ko ipagpatuloy 'yung kanta dahil kailangan ko maging professional," the Kapuso singer said.
"Lalo kapag 'yung kanta pa ay naisabay talaga sa emosyon na nararamdaman mo, hindi ko napigilan umiyak, kaya para sa 'kin mas mahirap kumanta pag heartbroken."
Meanwhile, for Daryl, there's some merit to singing while heartbroken, sharing that one of his most successful renditions, Carol Banawa's "Stay," was recorded after he and his ex broke up.
"Ni-record ko 'yun a few days after nag-break kami nung ex ko before, so I would say effective din 'yung heartbroken ka habang nag-r-record, especially kung 'yung kinakanta mong kanta is pangsawi rin," he said.
"Iba 'yung emosyon na maitatawid dun sa song, genuine 'yung pakiramdam," he added.
Tito Boy shared a conversation he had years ago with OPM icon Ogie Alcasid, who told him that it's easier to write songs while heartbroken.
Daryl agreed, citing Moira Dela Torre as an example.
"'Yung album niya na sobrang nag-ano, puro pang sawi eh, feeling ko kasi nagiging outlet din siya nung mga taong may pinagdadaanan," he said. "Mas madaling masandalan 'yung song if it's something na nagcocomfort or it's relatable sa [nakikinig]."
Hannah and Daryl are among the inampalan or judges of "TiktoClock's" singing competition "Tanghalan ng Kampeon."
The competition is set to hold its week-long grand finals beginning November 18.
"TiktoClock" airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on GMA Network and GTV.
