Mastercard Platinum
Mastercard Platinum cardholders earn two Peso points for every P1,000 or USD 20 spent using their credit card. Each point is equivalent to P1 and can be converted to cash credit to pay your balance or be used as needed. In case you need to spend internationally, the card's credit limit is available in both peso and dollar amounts.
The card also has select perks such as a 7% discount on selected hotel bookings via Hotels.com and Expedia, 20% discount for Hotel Casiana Tagaytay bookings, discounted video consultations with medication delivery via Doctor Anywhere, as well as a discount of up to 10% off for your next Qatar Airways flight.
In terms of annual fees, membership is waived for the principal cardholder provided they meet the required spend of P600,000 per year.
Mastercard World Elite
You probably haven't heard of this particular card. ICYDK, the Mastercard World Elite is a by-invitation credit card from BDO. Unlike the Mastercard Platinum, World Elite cardholders earn three Peso Points for every USD 20 spent overseas and two Peso Points for every P1,000 local purchase.
The card also has exclusive benefits like a Private Jet Program wherein the cardholder may save up to USD 1,000 per round-trip booking on a private jet; discounted chauffeured card services; complimentary daily breakfast for two, room upgrades, early check-in and late check-out for select four- and five-star hotels and resorts; priority access to more than 550 fine dining venues, and more.
Visa Platinum
For folks who love to travel, the Visa Platinum might be the card you're looking for. The card grants cardholders access to over 1,400 VIP airport lounges worldwide via the Free Priority Pass Membership. It also grants you 24/7 access to the Visa Concierge, a bespoke digital personal assistant that can cater to your requests through a curated range of services, amenities, and exclusive privileges.
In terms of dual currency options, local transactions billed in Philippine Peso or other currencies may be paid in the exact amount in USD. Cardholders also have the option to ask for the prevailing exchange rate if they opt to pay in Philippine Peso.
JCB Platinum
If you're a frequent traveler to Japan, you might want to get your hands on a JCB Platinum card. Cardholders are entitled to six free lounge access passes for trips to Japan and Hawaii. Destinations such as Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and Germany warrant the cardholder eight free access per year via the LoungeKey service.
It also gives cardholders access to JCB Plaza Lounges worldwide which provide a variety of services such as the capability to book reservations for hotels, restaurants, tours, and tickets; free Wi-Fi access, free drinks, and temporary luggage holding. Like other cards on this list, 24/7 Concierge Desk Assistance is available as well as the capability to earn two Peso Points for every P1,000 spent using the card.
UnionPay Diamond
For those unfamiliar, UnionPay is a financial service established in China. BDO offers an elite card called UnionPay Diamond wherein cardholders are given access to the world's finest restaurants, shopping benefits, luxury hotels, and experiences through UnionPay's U Collection.
Annual membership fees are free for the first three years but can be waived for succeeding years provided the principal cardholder meets the required P600,000 per year spend.
Diners Club Premiere
Travelbugs, here's a card you'll want to have. The Diners Card Premiere allows cardholders to earn one Travel Mile for every P30 spent and two Travel Miles for every USD 1 spent if enrolled in the card's Dual Currency Feature. Accumulated Travel Miles can be used to redeem airline miles (which you can use to book flights or that well-deserved upgrade), waive membership fees, or cash credit which you can use to pay your balance or use when needed.
The card also provides two free passes to select airport lounges which can be used by the principal or secondary cardholder.
