Power and style unite: The new Toyota Corolla Cross
TOYOTA Motor Philippines (TMP) has launched the latest iteration of its best-selling hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) model, the Toyota Corolla Cross. Originally introduced in 2020 as TMP's pioneering hybrid electric crossover alongside its traditional internal combustion engine variants, the 2024 Corolla Cross now exclusively offers an all-HEV lineup, marking a significant step toward a greener automotive landscape.
With a starting price of P1.498 million for the G HEV variant, TMP reinforces its commitment to affordability and reliability in the electrified vehicle market. This move underscores TMP's dedication to mainstreaming the adoption of electrified vehicles among Filipino motorists, making the shift toward sustainable transportation more accessible and appealing.
Exterior and interior enhancements
The latest Corolla Cross models, including the V HEV and G HEV variants, boast a striking mesh-like grille with hexagonal outlines, exuding a contemporary and sophisticated aesthetic. Meanwhile, the GR-S HEV variant retains the sleek and sporty front design that has become synonymous with its predecessor.
Inside the cabin, all variants feature luxurious touches such as LED interior lamps and a leather steering wheel, complemented by the convenience of an electronic parking brake (EPB).
Convenience features
Equipped with a long list of innovative features, the new Corolla Cross elevates the driving experience to new heights. From a 12.3-inch fully digital multi-information display (MID) in the GR-S HEV to a 7-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) MID in the V HEV and a 4.2-inch TFT MID in the G HEV, drivers are provided with intuitive and customizable interfaces. All variants offer a 10-inch display audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, alongside a wireless charger for seamless smartphone charging on the go. Additional enhancements include dual climate control, a built-in dash cam, and USB Type-A and Type-C ports for enhanced connectivity.
Under the hood
Maintaining its commitment to performance and efficiency, the Corolla Cross retains its proven 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE hybrid engine, delivering an impressive 122 PS. This hybrid powertrain seamlessly integrates the capabilities of a conventional engine with the fuel efficiency of an electric motor, offering drivers a sustainable and eco-friendly driving experience without compromising on power or responsiveness.
Safety features
Safety remains a top priority in the new Corolla Cross lineup, with advanced features designed to provide peace of mind on every journey. The GR-S and V variants are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), offering a comprehensive suite of safety technologies such as pre-collision system (PCS), dynamic radar cruise control, and lane departure alert (LDA). Additionally, all variants come standard with active safety features including emergency brake signal (EBS) and vehicle stability control (VSC), ensuring optimal safety in various driving conditions.
Color options and pricing
Customers have the freedom to express their individuality with a range of stylish color options available across the lineup. From Platinum White Pearl Mica to Celestite Gray Metallic and Metal Stream Metallic, the V HEV and G HEV variants offer a selection of sophisticated hues to suit every taste. Meanwhile, the GR-Sport HEV variant exudes sporty elegance with two-tone options including Emotional Red/Attitude Black Mica and Platinum White Pearl Mica/Attitude Black Mica.
The new Corolla Cross is available in three distinct variants, catering to diverse preferences and lifestyles. Priced at P1.917 million, the GR-S HEV embodies premium performance and luxury, while the V HEV, priced at P1.763 million, offers a perfect balance of style and functionality. For those seeking exceptional value, the G HEV variant is available at an attractive price point of P1.498 million, making electrified driving accessible to a wider audience.
With its seamless blend of power, style and sustainability, the new Corolla Cross sets a new standard for electrified vehicles in the Philippines, empowering drivers to embrace a greener future without compromising on performance or comfort.
