BGC's Newest Attraction: An Art and Food Trail at SM Aura

What better way to indulge in art than pairing it with an unforgettable gastronomic experience? Taking artworks to public spaces, Art in Aura is reinventing ways to promote Filipino-made masterpieces. Seven homegrown artists get the spotlight in the latest edition of the campaign, where their creations are displayed throughout SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City. The art trail—the gift that keeps on giving—comes with five exclusive dishes inspired by the artworks.

Here's a preview of the art and food trail:

Sa Bingit ng Pagbabagong Anyo ng Diwata byJoshua Limon Palisoc

The trail starts off with this vibrant piece tracing the country’s pre-colonial roots created by sculptor Joshua Limon Palisoc. Featuring a shape-shifting diwata named Siya, the artwork personifies gender fluidity, with its Bahagharing Ahas (Rainbow Snake) serving as a symbol of connection between worlds and genders.

An off-the-menu dessert, the 100s & 1000s Gelato at Gelato by Chef Miko, took inspiration from the elements of Palisoc’s Art in Aura piece.

Emotion Through Motion byVincent Liwanes Diñoso

Entrepreneur-turned-visual artist Vincent Liwanes Diñoso is a maestro in depicting the human figure as an instrument for expression. His Art in Aura creation, wrapped in layers of gauze and acrylic, conveys two distinct emotions, captivating the viewer.

Like Diñoso’s multi-layered piece, the Lechon Porchetta Bao was made exclusively by Lé Chon Prime for the trail.

Resonance by Bryant William Cuison

Wearing many hats, Bryant William Cuison draws inspiration from his contrasting life outside of artistry. His black and white brushstrokes speak volumes in this artwork, bringing out unfiltered emotions, while conveying what finding comfort in the world of art means.

The special dish inspired by the contrast in Cuison’s Art in Aura creation is Teakha’s Sweet & Sour Prawn Balls with Tofu.

Titled "Life As We Know It," the art and food trail, a first under Art in Aura, is free for all mall-goers until the campaign ends on July 14. Customers can choose whether they want to experience just one between the art and food tour or both. Registration is available online.
