Honda launches new City Hatchback

HONDA Cars Philippines Inc. unveiled the new City Hatchback in a grand launch event on June 14, 2024 at Bonifacio High Street. The latest model features significant upgrades to both its interior and exterior, and most notably, it now includes the advanced Honda Sensing driver-assist system. This new release follows its predecessor, which dominated the B-segment hatchback market with a 90-percent market share.

The updated City Hatchback enhances its familiar sportiness with a refreshed RS body kit, featuring a new bumper and front grille. It comes equipped with striking 16-inch Berlina Black alloy wheels with radial, unrestrained spokes, contributing to its sporty image with a large diameter expression. These exterior enhancements ensure the new model stands out with a dynamic and aggressive look.

The integration of Honda Sensing is set to make journeys in the new City Hatchback safer and more enjoyable. Honda Sensing, a driver-assist system, aligns with Honda's vision of achieving a collision-free society by 2050, ensuring safer roads for all. The system includes lead car departure notification, which alerts the driver when the vehicle in front starts moving. Adaptive cruise control maintains a set speed and distance from the car ahead, making highway driving less stressful. The collision mitigation braking system helps prevent or reduce the severity of a frontal collision. The lane keep assist system and road departure mitigation and lane departure warning help keep the vehicle centered in its lane. Finally, the auto high beam system automatically switches between high and low beams depending on the driving conditions.

For added safety and convenience, the new City Hatchback includes a walk away auto door lock, which automatically locks the doors when the driver moves away from the vehicle with the key. The car is also equipped with six airbags, ensuring maximum protection for all occupants in the event of a collision. Technological advancements in the new City Hatchback include a 4.2-inch TFT Meter that provides clear and comprehensive driving information. The car also supports Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing drivers to stay connected and entertained without the need for cables.

Inside, the car boasts RS full leather seats, offering a luxurious and comfortable driving experience. A new color option, Sonic Gray Pearl, is available for the first time in HCPI's lineup, adding a fresh and stylish choice for customers. Other color options include Ignite Red Metallic, which adds a bold and vibrant touch; Platinum White Pearl, exuding elegance and sophistication; Meteoroid Gray Metallic, which offers a sleek and modern appearance; and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, enhancing the car's sporty and energetic vibe.

The new City Hatchback will be available exclusively in the RS variant, priced at P1.189 million. This model promises to deliver a blend of style, performance, and advanced safety features, making it a compelling choice for customers seeking a versatile and modern hatchback. With its enhanced features and competitive pricing, the new City Hatchback is poised to continue Honda's legacy of excellence in the automotive market.
