At Love Laban 2 Everyone PH Pride Festival yesterday, June 22, 2024, Janella premiered the MV to Hey, You. In it, Janella and Jane find love as two schoolmates. They even reference "Bubbline" at the end—the 'ship name of Adventure Time's Princess Bubblegum and Marceline.
"Sayang, hindi natuloy yung kiss," Janella remarked during the Love Laban 2 Everyone program. "Bigyan nyo muna kami ng GL."
"Napagod na kasi ako kaka-antay kaya ako na lang gumawa ng paraan," furthered Janella in the context of Hey, You.
A JaneNella Timeline
"JaneNella" first came about when Janella and Jane's chemistry couldn't be denied as they played mortal enemies in Darna.
Both stars expressed that they would love to be in a GL project, given the clamor for "Darlentina"—a play on Janella's Darna and Jane's Valentina characters. "Kasi it’s all about the craft din naman, di ba, kasi artist din kami. So, challenge din yun sa amin, if ever," said Jane in an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph).
In November 2023, it was announced that the two will star in How To Be A Good Wife, a film by Jun Robles Lana.
There were talks of a GL movie for Janella and Jane, but the plan was scrapped, much to the dismay of "JaneNella" fans.
We're still not giving up hope! May the success of Hey, You bring us closer to that "JaneNella" GL film.
