"Kicks" is Nissan's 100% electric motor-driven system. It uses an electric motor to power the wheels and has a gasoline engine that acts as a power generator to charge the battery of the electric motor when needed.
"The new pricing reflects Nissan's commitment to making electrified vehicles more affordable and aligns with the government's initiatives to promote a greener future through incentives and support that further drive the adoption of electric vehicles in the country, making environmentally friendly options more accessible to the public," the company said in a statement.
"This initiative supports our mission in providing Filipinos with innovative and sustainable mobility solutions and also aligns with the government's vision of a greener and more sustainable future for the Philippines," said Nissan Philippines President Yasuhisa Masuda.
Aside from the lower SRP, Nissan also announced that it extended the battery warranty of the Kicks e-POWER from five years to eight years.
According to Nissan the Kicks has a 22km/L capacity and can go approximately 900km in a full tank, depending on driving conditions.
The company also said the Kicks "deliver superior power, compared to other compact SUVs, with its instant acceleration and high torque output" through its e-POWER system.
"This unique system offers the advantages of electrified driving, such as instant torque for a responsive and exciting drive, with the assurance of an on-board gasoline engine to charge the battery when needed, making it an ideal choice for those looking to enter the electric vehicle market," said Nissan about it's e-POWER vehicle.
"Nissan’s proprietary e-POWER technology offers the driving performance and benefits of an EV yet eliminates the need for plug-in charging," the company added. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
