Prep kids for a successful school year

Prep kids for a successful school year

As another school year starts, parents may have questions about their child's enjoyment, energy levels, and ability to handle the increased workload.

Additionally, the challenge of getting them out of bed on school days can be daunting.

To address these concerns, Nestlé Research & Development scientist, Dr. Denis Breuillé, offers expert insights on how to ensure children have the necessary energy to thrive in and out of the classroom.

Dr. Breuillé highlights the physical and mental demands that school days place on children, and the importance of providing them with sufficient preparation in order to be able to use up a significant amount of energy in a day, whether from physical exertion in PE classes or the mental stimulation required in lessons and activities.

In fact, research shows that the energy a child needs for one school day is equivalent to playing two hours of non-stop volleyball.

Proper nutrition plays a crucial role in preparing children for school. To meet the energy demands of physical and mental activities, children need a well-rounded source of energy throughout the day. This applies not only to their time at school but also to their time at home.

A child who has sufficient energy during school hours and who remains active at home is better equipped to excel academically and enjoy extracurricular activities.

Fortunately, providing children with nourishing energy is now easier. A cup of Milo in the morning is clinically proven to sustain energy when combined with exercise and a balanced diet.

The new and improved formula not only has a more delicious taste but also provides additional nutrients compared to its previous recipe. Milo now contains more Vitamin B3, B6, B12, and Iron, essential for growth, development, brain function, and energy release.

"Each glass of Milo contains 14 gram of available carbohydrates demonstrated to maintain energy stores for two hours in the morning. Double the serving to 28g of available carbohydrates — two Milo glasses — will help your kid refuel their energy stores, ensuring that they start their days on a high and energized note," Dr. Breuillé finally noted.
